This book I've been hoping for to be published for so long, and when I found out it was coming out I did a little happy dance! AND when I got an e-mail last night that I actually won a copy of it, in a competition on the author's page... Yeah. The emotional, psychological tension in the story is high. The team has gone through hell once before to save Isabelle's life, and Jack lost his heart to her, but had to let her go. And now a year later, she is the target of a professional serial killer, who has never missed the target. They are on the run for Isabelle's life, and it is tense, straining, and scary. The surprises keeps coming, keeping them on the edge. The threat to her life seems constant and unavoidable. The bond in Devlin Group is tight, the camaraderie and wit admirable and entertaining. The love between Jack and Isabelle is raw, and profound, and so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. I absolutely love Shannon Stacey's voice, style, type of writing. I've read everything she has written, and she's one of the very few on my auto-buy list of authors. And No Place to Hide was worth the wait and didn't disappoint in any way, shape or form. Yes, I'm gushing, but I can't help it. I felt the emotions the characters were feeling, there are some moments that make you smile, some that touch you heart and make you tear up and sigh... I pretty much inhaled the story on one sitting, hoping it wouldn't end just yet. Absolutely five shiny spoons for this one, and I hope there will more stories with Devlin group in the future!

If you want an exciting on the edge of your seat read, this story is for you. Constant suspense and strong characters. I wish there had been more romance and steamy scenes, but that's me. Four stars only because of this. A very talented writer.

I freaking loved No Place To Hide by Shannon Stacey. I first knew of Stacey for her contemporary romance, and was ecstatic when I learned she had a romantic suspense series (my favorite genre). I just love the adrenaline rush that comes with the action scenes. Not only does Stacey write engaging characters, hot romance and exciting stories, she also includes a nice balance of heart racing scenes to keep you on the edge and flipping pages. No Place To Hide is the fourth book in The Devlin Group series and features Jack and Isabelle from No Surrender. Jack's team members went through quite a bit to rescue Isabelle in the last book. While you don't have to read No Surrender to enjoy No Place to Hide, it does give you a bit more emotion and understanding regarding some of the hesitation for certain members to get involved again where Isabelle is concerned. There is a contract out on Isabelle's life and she calls Jack for help. it is pretty intense from the beginning and doesn't really let up until the end. I really enjoy how Stacey was able to write whole book about people being on the run form a hitman, spending most of their time hiding out in hotels and it not get boring or redundant. The characters drove the story even though there was serious danger and life or death action scenes. The relationship between Jack and Isabelle and even Devil Group member, Ty West was entertaining to watch the entire time. Something I love about a series is reading about past characters so it was fun when the other members of the group were involved, especially Gallagher, Jack's boss. Let's just say they don't always see eye to eye. Oh, and the cover of the book? Totally Jack with two guns. The writing in No Place To Hide was smooth and the pacing was right on. I couldn't put the book down and while I really wanted Isabelle and Jack to have closure I hated finishing the book. The action scenes were great, although sometimes I had a bit of difficultly following what was happening and had to reread them to make sure I followed. It didn't affect the pleasure I had in reading the book, however. The love scenes were a nice balance to the suspenseful scenes and I feel they complemented Jack and Isabelle's relationship well. The evil dude that was paid to kill Isabelle was super creepy. Definitely made my skin crawl when he said her name so those scenes definitely caused my heart rate to spike. While Jack was the main character in the story and Isabelle's love interest, I fell in love with supporting character, Ty. I really hope that Stacey plans another book for him. He has such a great personality, stole the show sometimes and is just beginning his career with the group. If you like romantic suspense with...well, if you like romantic suspense in general, I think you will like this No Place To Hide. Happy Reading!

Lots of action! I received a copy of this book from the author via Net Galley for the purpose of providing an honest review. 4 Stars There were other men who could keep her alive, but he was the only man who made her feel alive. I really enjoyed this action packed story. Every once in a while I find that I am in the mood to curl up with a good romantic suspense. The right combination of action and romance can just be tons of fun if it is done well and I think that this book hit the mark very well. I have not read any of the other books in the Devlin Group series and I thought that this book read just fine as a stand alone but I could tell that there was some events in the characters' past that was probably the focus of prior books. The book starts with a bang. Isabelle is the target of a gunman and when she gets a chance to call for help, she calls Jack. Isabelle and Jack met during her rescue which is most likely the focus of a prior book and you really get enough information in the story about it that you never feel lost. Jack immediately goes to protect Isabelle. Both have feelings for each other that they have been trying to suppress. The Devlin group sends a second man, Ty West, to help keep Isabelle safe when it becomes apparent the gunman is extremely dangerous. The trio find themselves in several very difficult situations but are determined to stop the gunman's plan. The chemistry between Jack and Isabelle is off the charts and eventually the pair quit fighting what seems inevitable. I loved Ty's character. He does what needs to be done without question but also seemed to know how to lighten the mood when necessary. Eventually, things get even more difficult and the Devlin group must change gears to stop Isabelle's attacker. I really had a lot of fun with this story. There was no extreme plot twists but there were a few moments that popped up that I didn't expect. The pacing of the story was well done with enough action to keep the story moving. I really liked all the characters in this one. Jack and Isabelle really seemed quite perfect for each other and I almost cheered when they quit fighting it. I would highly recommend this story to fans of romantic suspense. I have read some of Shannon Stacey's contemporary romance Kowalski series and have really loved those. I really think she nailed this romantic suspense story as well. I do hope to go back and read the prior books in this series. I would really love to read about Isabelle's prior rescue.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review. This is book #4 in the Devlin Group Series but it can be read as a standalone. I have not read any of the other books and I did not have a problem picking up with this one. One year ago Jack was involved in rescuing Isabelle from a guerrilla compound but then he left her at the airport told her to get on with her life and left. Isabelle has never forgotten the brave man who has rescued her and when some tries to kill her again Jack is her only hope at survival. The Devlin Group sets out to hunt down the person trying to kill her. The action started on page one with the assassin shooting and Isabella. When he finds their hideout they must take off on the run. But while on the run Jack can't deny the feelings he has always had for Isabelle and thing start to heat up. Even though Isabella is scared for her and Jack she is a strong women who faces her fear and fights her attacker right along with Jack. Jack is her protector who realizes his feeling for Isabella. This book is fast paced, tense, and suspenseful with a side of steamy thrown in. The characters are well developed and strong. The whole Devlin group is a force to be reckoned with. They work well together. The story line flows smoothly and keeps you intrigued wondering what will happen next. I will definitely be looking into the other Devlin Group book by Shannon Stacey. I feel like we've waited forever, but I must say - so worth the wait! I LOVE the Devlin Group! No Place To Hide is NO exception. It's intense and sexy. Finally we get Jack and Isabelle's story! Jack gets that mysterious phone call in the middle of the wedding and he rushes off to help Isabelle. Her past is coming back to haunt her and only Jack can protect her (with the Devlin Group's help). Definitely a 5-star book! I hope there's another!!
