Overview

As to the specifics behind the “Off the Cuff” design, I find cuffs on garments rather interesting as they intentional expose of the wrong side of a work. The seed stitch alters to emulate the structure of a cuff. The coconut shell button lends itself perfectly to the organic cotton yarn, naturally with a touch of preppy.

Inspired to design a beginner pattern, I created a simple pattern that requires only knit, purl, and a button opening. To ensure beginners' success I included written directions as well as charts so knitters could follow the format they found easiest. Furthermore, I sent this pattern off to be tech edited to make certain it would be as universally understood as possible. The pattern includes written directions, a glossary, and two charts. Tech edited by Katherine Vaughan.

About the Author

A gift received became a passion embraced…

During a long hospitalization, I sought an enjoyable distraction from the daily drudgery of medical tests. Having learned some basic knitting skills as a young girl from my talented Baba and very creative great grandmother, I decided to again try my hand at this craft. Knitting quickly became a passion as a single sweater accelerated into creating my own designs for both myself and others to enjoy.

The diagnosis of neurotoxicity, organ damage, and chemical sensitivity mandates an isolated lifestyle free from the impact of modern day chemicals. Eco Chic Knits was conceived with this in mind. As I began to formulate new designs, two key philosophies were foremost in my thinking:
1.Knits that fit curves
2.Unique and intricate patterns

Hence, Eco Chic Knits’ debut publication of the “Relaxed Petal Ruffle Scarf.” An immediate positive response indicated a niche market.

Concurrently, I am privileged to pursue a Masters of Arts in Philosophy through distance education and am the author of a children’s book series, “Cheeky’s Tales.” The series is based on my Great Dane, Cheeky. In her first adventure, “Cheeky’s Security Blanket,” Cheeky learns about self-identity and materialism through several incidents involving her collar.

I hope you derive as much enjoyment in working up my patterns as I have had in creating them! Today is a good day to knit :-)
