Being released from prison for a crime you did not commit should be a time for celebration. Just as the death of an old great-uncle ought to be a time for thoughtful reflection. Except Gee Ward's problems are only just beginning. Instead of heading out to contemplate his prison experience, family, friends and an ex-girlfriend divulge information which leaves him reeling. He cannot possibly come to terms with all he discovers. A horrible accident resulting from a prison debt further prevents any imminent departure. His own previous actions have decreed that Gee must face up to the most challenging crisis any individual can endure.
