On the Trail of Harry Potter
IN SEARCH OF HARRY POTTER demonstrates how J. K. Rowling created a blockbuster through the development of her characters and their psychological interactions, through her masterful plotting and through her humor, wit and style. It is the first readable literary analysis of all seven volumes of the story. Beyond the series itself, it also includes Rowling's post-Potter publications and compares the Harry Potter books with the films based on them.

This study explains how and why Harry Potter is not a mere turn-of-the century fad but a classic that will continue to capture the imagination of readers of all ages, throughout the world.
