Benson Bayou Beauregard is the president of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC, and the grandson of the Sergeant at Arms for the Dixie Wardens MC. He's a mountain of a man and the warden of a prison, and there's only one thing that can scare him—being told that he's the father of a three-year-old little girl.

A three-year-old little girl that has no clue who he is. Hell, he only finds out about the little cherub when a woman from child protective services comes by and rocks his world before leaving the girl in his shocked arms.

Every single thing he thinks he knows goes up in a cloud of smoke.

To make matters worse, the woman that he's been trying to convince to give him a chance takes one look at the little girl and tells him that he's just not in the right place to handle both of them.

But Bayou was never one to back down from a challenge.

He can handle a three-year-old girl that acts exactly like him, and he can more than take on the fiery red-head that sets flame to his blood while he's at it.

I quit reading LLV books a while back cause as much as I love her previous ones I noticed that as a series goes it appeared to be rushed and short . But then I saw this one and although short still, less than 190 pages for $5 I gave it a try and loved it!

I have been literally counting down the days for this book to come out! This has been my absolute favorite so far. I LOVED Bayou more than I ever thought possible! Couldn't put it down, read the whole book in one afternoon (needless to say I did nothing else).

Bayou and Phoebe are my favorite couple of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC. Their story was one that I just couldn't get enough of. I loved how they meet, and how it didn't matter that they didn't see each other for years, that Bayou still thought about her. Phoebe was the same way when it came to Bayou. The way that they were together showed that they had the perfect chemistry. And no just because they were written by the author to be together doesn't mean they the chemistry will be there. At least when the story is played out in my head. But, these two had the perfect chemistry. It was like Phoebe was created for Bayou. In fact their chemistry along with their story was the reason I found myself going right into a re-read once I was done the first time. And I can already see that this book is going to be one that I will be reading over and over again.

4 1/2 STARS! Sweet, touching and steamy-licious! With the next book in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series, Bayou is front and center. We know him as the quiet but steady friend to all of his MC, a solid leader as president of the club and warden at the prison. We learn more about him personally and where his past led him. There’s really no MC part to this book, but it’s a really great taming of the tough guy with the haunted past sort of story. Really enjoyed it! Bear Bottom Guardians MC president Benson “Bayou” Beauregard is shocked when a social worker shows up handing him a three year old little girl who his crazy ex never told him about. He’s not sure he’s good enough to be the parent she needs, but it doesn’t take long for the woman he’s got eyes for to set him straight and ease him on the path of being the best Daddy ever. Phoebe Mackenzie met Bayou when she was fifteen years old, and made a huge impact on his life. She shows up at the prison to apply for a job and gets up close and personal with him again. He doesn’t believe she could possible be interested in someone like him … but little does he know that he’s all she’s ever wanted!

I knew going in that I was going to like this book because I have liked everything the author has written. What I was not expecting was how much I was going to like it … I LOVED IT! The main characters, Bayou and Phoebe, have been introduced and appeared in various books through not only the Bear Bottom MC series, but also the Freebirds series (at least with Phoebe), so I already went in knowing the characters and the players. But I didn’t expect how much I was going to enjoy Bayou’s quirks and Phoebe’s sass. I think I that I was more drawn to Bayou’s character in this book. What he went through and the situations that he finds himself in through this story really made me empathize with him more. And I really got a kick out of the way that he acted at times, especially with the hawk. He has a sense of humor, but it is hidden away most times and I don’t think the other characters see it, but with Phoebe he didn’t have to try to act normal around her. And his daughter! OMG she is a chip off of the old block and my second favorite character in this story. Overall, LOVED the book. The characters were interesting, and frankly refreshing. There are a few that I would love to throat punch (and one clearly needs it by the end). The emotional impact of the book was nice and level. There is a smidge of danger that pepper’s the pages, but not much. Angst is definitely kept down in this story as compared to some of the author’s other works, but that is what makes his one so good. So for me … two thumbs up and happy reading!!

Benson Bayou Beauregard is not your conventional hero but then Phoebe probably isn't your conventional heroine either. Can they despite everything thrown at them make it work? A great story, I really don't know Lani keeps getting these fantastic storylines from, but I'll carry on reading her books as long as see keeps producing them.

Lani Lynn Vale tackles a different sort of hero, but one that wins the heart of a Mackenzie girl. Loved Phoebe and Bayou's book. Wondering when Piper will get her book. Loving these books on the next generation.

I thought Ms. Vale did a wonderful job with the character of Bayou. I loved that the hero wasn't perfect, and it was refreshing to see a hero with a disability other than PTSD (not taking away from anyone with PTSD, it just seems to be a common choice when writing a romance hero with a military background). The story pulled me in from page 1 and despite the fact I'd been awake for over 24 hours, I couldn't put it down until I'd read the very last page. I think this may be my new favorite book by Ms. Vale.

This is an author that has a lot of books! She has written several different series, each series focusing on a different cast of characters, but still connected, for the most part. Throughout these series, there have been some characters that have stuck out, struck a chord, or become a favorite in some way, each for different reasons. There have also been a few books that have become favorites, for the same reasons. After reading One Chance, Fancy, I have to say I've found a new favorite. I love, love, love Bayou! Bayou is a favorite because HE ISN'T PERFECT! (I know, a romance hero, that isn't absolutely perfect, in every way!?! What the What?) I love Bayou for his eccentricities, for his quirks. I think they make him an amazing man, perfect for Phoebe, exactly what she needs. No daughter of Sam's could love a man that wasn't strong enough to deal with a woman that knows herself, and is strong enough to stand on her own, but confident enough in herself to know that she doesn't have to. Bayou was strong enough to overcome a rough childhood, adapt to his limitations, and excel at the life he has made for himself. This book is brilliant! I loved Bayou and Phoebe together. Their story hit me right in the feelings. Their connection, right from the beginning, was magical, and it was clear to me they belonged together, even if they didn't know it then. Their tenacity, and ability to overcome made for a story I will read again and again!
