About the Author

Eliza Ankum grew up in the small, and very rural, town of Latham, Alabama.
When she was 13 years old her parents made a decision that would forever change her life. Her parents moved the family to Chicago, Illinois.
Chicago was a world apart from Latham, Alabama. Everything was different -- the people and the way they moved through their world, the way they dressed, talked, and walked.
Her rural upbringing made her a target for Chicago's tough inner city kids. How did she cope? Like any kid who finds themselves a loner, she took to books. Reading mostly history and mythology. An another big favorite activity was watching television soap operas, detective stories, and cowboy movies, all of which provided her the necessary components for great story telling.
