Mike Pallaso, a Marine veteran of Vietnam, returned suffering from the pain of that war, but through the intercession of a wise mentor, is able to use his extraordinary talent as an artist to beat back the demons in his mind and achieve a fragile normalcy in his life. His memories of that journey, however, lead him to help a couple of young Marine veterans from the war in Afghanistan struggling with the trauma of their own combat experiences.
