I bought this book after attending an all-day workshop for staff of the Central Bucks School District, PA. The workshop was presented by the authors and they were amazing. Thier idea of teaching social thinking rather than social skills is the key to helping AS individuals become independent. It works so much better and it makes more sense. I use a lot of their approaches in my one-on-one jobs as an AS aid for the school district, some for my TSS work, and it has helped me in graduate school studies.

As a teacher and parent of an Asperger child, I have read many books on Autism and Aspergers. This is by far the best, informative and practical. This book has really helped me in my classroom and at home. I finally understand and have tools to help my students and my son.

This book relates to many children on the spectrum. The author breaks down the various characteristics of aspergers and gives practical advice. Behaviors and interventions are discussed. The appendices have checklists for you to evaluate your child. The book has been one of the most interesting I have ever read.
