Overview

Long before there were cellphones the big news was when your house had a telephone installed. In the 1950's party lines, where you shared a line with other households, meant you were able to listen in on your neighbours phone calls.

Kate Baker is so excited to use the newly installed telephone she inadvertently listens in on a neighbours call she should not have heard.

This begins a terrifying journey for young Kate that threatens to destroy her family.

A story of terror from a time when technology was very different.

Rita lives in Vancouver, B.C. with Russ, her husband who is also a fiction writer.
She loves to read and paint in her spare time. She is learning to enjoy golf, and he is learning to enjoy gardening. They are kept company, and on track, by their two dogs and Glenn, their younger son.
