An exceptionally good book. Gave a very realistic and quite accurate story about the settlement of the western bush area of Canada. I highlt reccomend this book to all high school age and older. The reason for this is not due to bad language or the torrid sex scenes found in so many books, it is because of the descriptive narative concerning the early birth ( very difficult birth) of one baby and at the same time the early birth of another. If your child is mature enough to handle this then I see no reason to prevent them from reading this great story!

Inspirational without being preachy. Very natural and a way of life.

GOD ways are not ours. This book came to me when I needed that lesson brought to the forefront. HE watches over us and solves our problems in HIS way if we only trust HIM.. An excellent read without being preachy

This was truly a great story. Although I figured out what had happened pretty quickly. I wish the conclusion had not been on the last page though because it took so long to get to it. It would have been wonderful to read more about the life of the family in Bliss after the plot was revealed.

I enjoyed this book as I enjoy reading about the wild Canada of yesteryear. It is filled with action, sound characters and a love story...who can resist.

I so enjoyed this book. I also rely on others review before I get a book. More than what the book is about! The reviews that tells me of sexual content I highly depend on.

I really enjoyed the book. However the ending was too short and disappointing. I would have rated it higher if it had not endef so abruptly.

This book was a disappointment. While the story line was clever, it was very poorly written. There was the main story and then every once in a while a historical blurb was included that didn't fit into the story at all. I felt that the characters were undeveloped and you didn't quite get a sense of who they were, even by the end. Not "bad" exactly, but I wouldn't call it "good" either and I wouldn't recommend it.

It has been a while since I read this, guess it didn't make much of an impression.

As I read this book I kept wondering why was this happening? At the end all is explained, well some of it. How so many people have suffered on the way to America in search of a better life. What about the relationship between Margo and her nanny? Some will be revealed at the end. Enjoy the book.

I really liked this book and it had a good ending so you don't have to get the next one if you only wanted to read one book.

This was a very moving story of chance meetings and true friendships. Gods love traversing race, mistrusts, and even war enemies. I would highly recommend this book

Enjoyed this book. Well written. Lots of history about the trials of the early settlers on land and sea.

Ugh. That's all I have to say. I got about a third of the way in and have yet to pick it back up. I love historical fiction, but this just rubs me in all the wrong ways. The main character is selfish, the story is incredibly slow, and incredibly boring.
