He graduated from the Literary Institute in 1972 and worked as a milling machine technician and designer (1962-1963), correspondent for the Sverdlovsk youth newspaper (1966-1967), in the editorial offices "Nash Sovremennik" (1971-1972) and "Student Meridian" (1973 -1977 years). Prints prose since 1973, as well as essays and articles on contemporary Russian reality and literature. Worked as a journalist with Radio Svoboda. Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (1977). Author of novels Tsunami, Flight of Shmel, the Sun was shining, the publication at different times of publisher Vremya.
