About the Author

Prof. Patricia Popoola is a full professor at the Department of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, at the Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa. She obtained her BSc (Honours) degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, and Masters and Doctoral degrees in Metallurgical Engineering at the Tshwane University of Technology. Her research focuses in Advanced Engineering Materials. She is an author/co-author of numerous Journal articles and more than 30 book chapters. Prof Popoola and her students are recipients of several academic excellence awards, and she continues to network with numerous national and international scientists.

Victor Ekene Ogbonna received his BEng and MSc degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria, in 2012, and University of Lagos, Nigeria, in 2017, respectively. From 2017 to 2019, he was a corrosion control supervisor at the Eclat Oil and Gas, Nigeria. He is currently a Doctoral student at the Department of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa under the mentorship of Professor Popoola. Ogbonna’s major research interest is on corrosion control engineering, polymer engineering, and materials development/characterization for engineering applications. VE Ogbonna has co-authored several peer-review research articles, and review articles on the above-mentioned research areas.

Prof. Olawale Popoola is an engineer and lecturer with diverse experience in the Electrical and Power Industry, and Oil and Gas Sectors. A Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) with a proven record and extensive knowledge of the energy industry. His research interest includes Energy Management, Energy and Behaviour, Renewable and Sustainable Energy, Quality Management, Power electronics application in Power Systems, New Materials as well as Laser Applications. He has made several presentations both locally and internationally. He has been working on innovative product development in new materials and load management with emphasis on proficient operation/utilization, effective management, affordability, cost savings.

Prof. Oluseyi Olanrewaju Ajayi, a recipient of the U.S. Govt’s Fulbright (Senior) African Research Scholar Programme, is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Covenant University (CU). His research interests span two major fields of Mechanical Engineering which are Energy Systems and Production or Manufacturing Technology. Based on these interests, his major contributions are hinged on five thematic areas – Renewable Energy and Low Carbon Development, Environment Induced Failure of materials for design technology, Fatigue and Failure Analyses of materials for design technology, Machining, and Production Technology, and the Application of nanoparticles and nanofluids to Energy Systems and their influence on Energy Saving Technology. His current research focus are on flow dynamics around wind turbine blades and the application of bio-based nanolubricant for the enhancement of heat transfer and energy savings in vapour compression refrigeration systems. As a result, he has published several papers in peer-reviewed high-impact international journals, conference proceedings, and chapters in reputable books.
