• Caron Simply Baby medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (3½ oz/165 yds/100g per skein):

7 skeins #04001 white

1 skein each #04005 my sunshine, #04004 baby blue, #04009 tiny sprite, #04003 baby pink, #04010 pixie purple and #04006 sugar coral

• Size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

• Tapestry needle

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Chain-2 at beginning of round counts as a double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Center

Rnd 1: With white, ch 4, join(see Pattern Notes) in first ch to form ring, ch 2(see Pattern Notes), 2 dc in ring, [ch 2, 3 dc in ring] 3 times, join with hdc in 2nd ch of beg ch-2. (12 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 2: Sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st in next ch-2 sp, ch 3(see Pattern Notes), 2 dc in same sp as beg ch-1, ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, rep from * twice, 3 dc in last ch-2 sp, join with hdc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 (last ch-2 sp made).(24 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 3: Sl st in sp formed by joining hdc, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp as beg ch-3, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 1) in each ch-1 sp around with (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1) in each ch-2 corner sp to last ch-2 sp, 3 dc in last corner ch sp, join with hdc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.

Rnds 4–37: Rep rnd 3.

Rnd 38: Sl st in sp formed by joining hdc, ch 1, sc in same sp as beg ch-1, ch 1, [sk next st, sc in next st, ch 1, sk next st, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] around with (sc, ch 2, sc) in each corner ch-2 sp to last ch- 2 sp, sc in last ch-2 sp, join with hdc in first sc.

Ruffle

Note: Ruffles are worked on each odd-numbered rnd of Afghan in color sequence listed below.

For each Ruffle, join in first dc after any corner ch-2 sp, ch 4, working in first and 3rd dc of each 3-dc group, [sl st in next dc, ch 4] around, join in joining sl st. Fasten off.
