Having reached one coast, he turns around and heads east until he hits the Atlantic. Soon, Forrests cross-country journey begins to garner media attention. Reporters attempt to uncover the reason behind his run, but, he insists, there is none. Jenny, now a waitress, even sees him on the news. Over time, Forrest attracts followers: some ordinary people inspired by his actions who want to join his run, others entrepreneurs who need his help.
