Religion Unplugged
Religions were created by humans from ancient myths.
The spirituality, faith, and morality that are implicit
in religions should have ennobled humans. Instead,
throughout history, religion has been plagued by
intolerance, persecutions, and wars that negated the
benevolence contained in all religious doctrine. The
problems besetting religion arise from fanaticism, lust
for power, and dogmatism. These aspects of religion,
as well as spirituality and the role of women, are
discussed. The means for reforming religion are
universal liberal education, religious democratization,
improved communication among religions, and a renewal
of spirituality.
