R.E.V.E.A.L.: ''THE YEAR WITHOUT MY DAD''
Coming to terms with mortality is a challenge faced by all. I had to accept death and it was hugely problematic. I went back to my roots where I remembered my mother talking about faith, and I knew that I had to go through life with a new practical approach and rely on God to get me through this difficult time. I have to find a way to process this new found reality. I had to go through this, and go through this alone. Accepting that life is short. In order for me to accept this, I was going to have to talk about it. Losing my father was a subject I wanted to avoid discussing, it was in that subject matter where it became more real. When you lose someone to death, it almost seems unreal, it's like they have taken a trip or a vacation, and you just know that you will see them again. However, reality sinks in. Realizing I was never going to see my father again began affecting me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
