The basic reason for the Protestant Reformation was that lots of Christians came to believe that the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church were not the True Church but were false churches, came to believe they were churches which led people to perdition not to Heaven. But do the Protestants trample on the scriptures? Do the Protestant churches lead people to perdition?
Christ said oaths are from the Devil. And yet Protestants take oaths. Look at the marriage vows. There are 2 main reasons why oaths / vows are no good. 1) Christ said they are from the Devil. Christians should try to remember John 14. 23-26! And 2) Taking an oath doesn't force people to keep their oaths. It turns people into liars, turns them into people who claim they have kept their oaths when they haven't. If you have ceased to love your spouse, then remembering your vows to love, honor and cherish till death do you part will not change the fact that you have ceased to love your spouse. Every high officer in the USA takes an oath to defend the Constitution. But they don't defend the Constitution! Again, oaths simply turn people into liars: they don't force people to uphold their oaths. People lie and claim they uphold their oaths when they don't uphold them.
In Matthew 19. 24 Christ said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, and yet Protestants rebel against Matthew 19. 24 and Acts 5. 4. The latter scripture explains how a Christian society is run. The rich and the poor retain control of their money but they give their money to the True Church. The True Church acts like a bank.
It is insanity to think that the apostles descended into the mortal sin of simony by selling their gospels and epistles to make a profit. And yet no end of Protestants think there is nothing evil about making a profit off of the True Faith by putting price tags on Bibles and other books which teach the True Faith.
In Revelation 2. 9 Jesus says the Jews are a synagogue of Satan. Well if the Jews teach heresies, if they lead people away from Heaven and to perdition, then the Jews are satanic.
Might the Protestants in their hundreds or thousands of sects also lead people away from Heaven and to perdition? The scriptures are clear there is only one True Church, only one Bride of Christ, and yet the Protestants have created hundreds or thousands of separate churches.
Revelation 20. 12-15 says that at the Last Judgment we are judged according to our works. You go to Heaven if your name is written in the Book of Life. You get tossed into the lake of fire if it isn't. Yes, St. Paul is clear we are saved according to our faith. Evidently we are judged according to our works to determine if our faith is legit or not. James 2. 17 - faith without works is dead.
How will the people lost in false religions and false churches find the True Faith and the True Church? Christianity will gain in popularity with Non-Christians when various Christian prophesies come to pass.
The Antichrist is prophesied to show up prior to the Second Coming of Christ, see 2 Thess 2.
There will be a Great Tribulation, Revelation 18.
3 angels from Heaven will show up, Revelation 14. 6-11.
If Rome and the Eastern Orthodox Church are false churches which drag people down to eternal perdition, because their evil traditons trample on the scriptures, well, one can also find lots of evil Protestant traditions which trample on the scriptures.
