I grew up in the small town of Danby, VT for the first 18 years of my life, and joined the U.S. Army as a cavalry scout in 1999 and returned home in 2002 with several medals of good service. After the service I embarked on a rodeo career after I was able to walk again from injuries sustained in battle, and became a Pro and Amateur Bull Rider and a Bareback Rider. I have since retired the rodeo although you still find me behind the chutes with the younger guys to lend a helping hand. I began writing at the age of 13 , back then it was just something to channel my thoughts, but in 2010, I decided to do something with my writing, self-publishing my first book. In 2011 I followed Pages Full of memories with a book of short stories co-written by 8 of my rodeo pals about our wrecks and rides in the rodeo. I have achieved a Editor’s Choice award in Poetry, and I plan to continue my writing. I am a Western Genre, Fiction and Historical Fiction writer, with my first novel in the works called Laramie’s Thunder. http://www.linkedin.com/in/whiteritchie
