"Dragon," Alanta whispered, as though he might deny it.
He nodded grandly, and even that slight movement was all strength and majesty. Alanta had thought herself royal, but she felt woefully inadequate compared with the creature that now gazed upon her.
His hand swept above her head, freeing her from her chains. Alanta fell forward, her arms aching and exhausted from their long ordeal, but the dragon caught her.
