About the Author

John Galsworthy (1867–1933) was an English novelist and playwright who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1932. His best known works are The Forsyte Saga and its sequels A Modern Comedy and End of the Chapter.  He was a close friend of the writer Joseph Conrad, whom he met while at sea.
