Salvatore Avellino Lucchese Family Caporegime

Salvatore Avellino was a caporegime involved in Lucchese enforcement of the garbage/carting industry. My e-book considers Avellino from age sixteen when he was charged with brandishing a zip gun at a Lake Ronkonkoma resort. The year was 1952. The Luccheses were heavily involved in controlling the Teamsters Union Local 813 in Suffolk County, New York. Beginning in March 1983 Avellino held meetings with Gambino family upper echelon members, i.e. boss Paul "Big Paul" Castellano and underboss Salvatore T. "Tom Mix" Santoro. At issue was the harrassment of rebel carters.
