About the Author

Denise Nicholson is the co-founder of Knitted Together, a company specializing in healing from trauma through therapeutic storytelling and empowerment programs. She is also the founder of Seeds of Opportunity which is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to give impoverished children a chance to succeed by providing basic needs and focusing on enhancing their education.
Denise is known as an inspirational and insightful speaker with the gift of telling stories. She is a native of Jamaica, West Indies and migrated to Mount Vernon, New York as a teenager. She became a teenage mother who then overcame many obstacles to become an entrepreneur. She is a registered nurse, a board certified family nurse practitioner, and doctoral candidate at Pace University.
