Overview

When veterinarian, Dr. Carly Tipton, takes a new job in the tiny farming community of Lunar Falls, she expects to build a new life for herself. She expects to meet new people and have new experiences. Maybe she’s even expecting a little adventure. But what she’s not expecting is to fall head or heels in love – not with the town, and certainly not with its ruggedly sexy sheriff, Gabriel Masters. She’s also not expecting all the secrets Lunar Falls is hiding. Secrets that could destroy everything she ever believed was true about her own heritage and the family she left back home.

Gabe isn’t ready for Carly when she blows into town. That woman has the power to bring him – a man born and raised to be a GrandAlpha – to his knees, and she’s human! That simple fact alone makes her dangerous to Gabe’s position within the pack. But the fact that he can’t seem to stay away from her tells him that this woman is the one. Human or not … she’s his mate. And now Gabe has to find a way to make their bonding complete without sparking a civil war among his people.

Secrets of Lunar Falls is book one of an adult, sexy shifter romance trilogy.

About the Author

Lashell Collins spent the last twenty years of her life working in Veterinary Hospitals and Garden Centers. But whether she was surrounded by the adorable puppies and kittens she helped to care for, or by the beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs, she constantly pursued her favorite pastime – reading romance novels and imagining herself as the heroine in each and every one of them! After losing a few people who were important in her life, she began writing in her grief and found it to be very cathartic. She started several stories in various genres, but none of them seemed to click for her, and they remained unfinished. Finally, a light bulb went on over her head! Since she really enjoyed reading romance novels, perhaps she would enjoy writing them too! Her first attempt was an epic love story, chronicling the rise and fall of a major rock star. It was full of sex, scandal and intrigue. And it was complete and utter crap. She closed her laptop and hung her head in shame. Then one day, after she had finished rereading one of her favorite romance novels for about the hundredth time, she opened up her laptop and tried again. And she hasn’t stopped writing since! All of Lashell’s stories are full of heart and romance, with smart dialogue and spicy sex scenes. She still loves writing about sexy rock stars. But she also loves writing about hot cops and hunky business men as well! When she’s not writing, Lashell enjoys reading, shopping, eating Chinese food, and riding on the back of her husband’s Harley-Davidson. She loves watching General Hospital and Grimm. She is a huge music fan and is completely obsessed with Slash. Lashell is a member of the Romance Writers of America. Drop her a line; she loves to hear from readers.

An excellent book all on its own, however it is only book one and I WILL read the rest of the series. Ms Collins is an skilled writer, keeping the attention of the reader as she weaves a story of love, loyalty, deception and secrets. Carly took the job of a lifetime, moving to Lunar Falls to join an established Veterinary practice. She had no plans to fall for the sexy sheriff and all the secrets he held. However, Gabe's plans didn't include her for many reasons and they both were in for the fight of a lifetime--resistance was futile. The story just keeps getting more intense. As Carly learns more she is compelled by the man and the secrets. They cannot resist the mating call and come together despite the added complications their union adds to his position of GrandAlpha of five wolf shifter packs. The politics become more complex as do family relations. She learns there are not only secrets in Gabe's family but in her family as well. This full length novel of 400 pages will keep you compelled to read on long past what you planned. I strongly recommend this to PRN readers as well as those who like a good mystery, family sagas, romance and just a good read.

There was something about the golden glow to the moon that intrigued me about this cover. Then I read the blurb and my interest was piqued. A town called Lunar Falls and we have shifters, an alpha and a pack? I immediately went with wolves. And I was correct.  But they don't label themselves werewolves, they are are Moon Hunters. Hiding in plain sight in a town that celebrates it's "werewolf" heritage. Right from the beginning I was sucked into the story. Carly is a vet who has recently moved to town. She has a wolf-dog hybrid called Lobo, that everyone thinks is just too coincidental to be funny. She also has unknowingly bought the house of a woman who had committed suicide there and was special to many in the town. Carly has an unusual reaction to the local sheriff and it isn't long before she gets sucked right into the undercurrents and secret political machinations that are boiling beneath the surface.  As this was the first book in a trilogy, there is no happily ever after yet. There is a minor cliffhanger, but nothing that left me cursing the author for leaving me stranded on the edge of my seat.  I am looking forward to book two, Lies of Lunar Falls and finding out more about the Moon Hunters. This was a good read and worth 3 stars.  Thanks to Ingenious Indie Promotions and the author for the chance to read and review the book.

A NEW WAY TO THINK THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS...SHIFTERS HAVE SO MANY WAY'S TO THINK YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE. A bold new way to think of shifters, and goodness knows I can't wait for this to continue. I have never read anything from Lashell Collins before but if this is anything to go by ,I have missed something.Gabe, the head of the Lunar Falls pack and head of the five packs . Then there is the new veterinarian Carly Tipton, who is about to have her world turned upside down as she falls in love with the town, the sheriff and discovers new things about herself. Then the sheriffs best friend Joe a Doctor, and Gabe's little sister Jessie. His Grandfather Henry, and his mother and Uncle Silas (a person to watch). There is so much about the who, what and where that you try to ask and figure out ahead of time. I won't tell you what I did guess right because I don't want to spoil a wonderful story and a little part has not happen yet so I could still be partly wrong...but I still think it will happen in maybe the next book.I sure want to find out so I can't wait.

My favorite type of character is found in this book.   The hot, sexy, alpha male, who just happens to be a shape shifter.   YUM!   I can never get enough of this type of story.   Lashell Collins hits the nail right on the head.    While Carly comes to town clueless, it is quickly given away that Gabe is not just the sheriff of Lunar Falls, he is so much more.  He is a strong, protective, and sexy male; who is also the head of his pack and the 5 other packs in the area.   I loved how he knew before he saw her that he was imprinted.   I was curious as to why she could feel him before she saw him and felt heat every time he was near.  When it was shared what was happening with Carly, I was thrilled.  I won’t give it away but it is a great part of their story.  I will definitely be waiting for the next book to come out in 2015 and will recommend this book to all my paranormal, shape shifter story enjoyers.
