Zandra York just got her big break, photographing a major project for a travel magazine. So what if she’s never traveled out of the country before? Or that she’s more adept at deciphering fraudulent financial statements than reading German train schedules? Her brother Jackson is on his way to act as her guide, and she can’t wait to experience Europe with him.

But when Jackson’s overprotective best friend gets off the plane instead, Zandra knows this will not end well.

There isn't a damned thing Special Forces instructor Blake Monroe wouldn't do for his best friend, but babysit Zandra when Jackson is unexpectedly called away on a mission? Nope. Not on the list. Especially not when she proves to be more trouble than he can handle—and far too tempting.

Between accidentally hiring a hearse as their rideshare, an unprovoked goat attack, and photographing erotic-shaped chocolates, Blake and Zandra can’t keep their hands off each other. But Zandra’s new career is about to send her all over the world and Blake is finally ready to settle down after his next deployment.

He’ll never ask her to give up her dreams. And she’ll never ask him to give up his.

About the Author

Melia Alexander is the author of sassy, sexy, fun contemporary romances, but is also fortunate to spend her week days at The Male Observation Lab (a.k.a. her job at a construction company) where she gets to observe guys in their natural habitat. Though they often behave like typical alpha males, she's often seen through their personas to the heart of who they really are - the heroes of their own stories. A native of Guam, Melia traded in warm, tropical breezes for the rainy Pacific Northwest. She's an avid reader who also loves romantic comedies - preferably with a glass of Cab Sauv and a box of dark chocolates nearby. In her free time, she's busy conquering her CrossFit fears: ring dips, power cleans, and the dreaded 800 meter run.

What a fun adventure this book was! I loved the sarcastic and then fun banter these two had together, which only comes from knowing someone a very long time. Blake was so protective, supportive and encouraging with Zandra. It was very endearing and she loved it, to have someone other than her brother on her side. She was determined and didn't want his help, other than being her photography assistant. But he came through for her on more than one occasion. They made a great team and I loved how they both realized they were perfect for each other. Their ending was way sweet and perfect for them, going with the flow, and not in a rush. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

Sweet and steamy…”Will they, won’t they”? I truly enjoyed this story but it seemed to take soooo long for Zandra and Blake to accept their mutual feelings. With all the sexual tension in this book it still took to chapter 10 for the first kiss and then chapter 22 for sharing the bed. Btw, those scenes are beautiful and my mention here is not truly a spoiler. They really need to be read to be appreciated. Zandra 2.0 is on her new adventure. She’s left her family’s accounting firm to do what she is passion about, which is photography. She’s been given an assignment by an ezine to cover some events in Europe. Needing help, she called on her brother Jackson who is in the military. Due to a scheduling problem, Jackson sends his childhood BFF Blake who is also in the military but takes time for his best friend’s little sis. Blake is going to be her “tour guide” and “pack animal” on her adventure. Blake is such a sweet, caring and loveable guy. You only want the best for him, which in this case is Zandra. This is a well-written, sweet and steamy romance. I loved the character development and angst Ms. Alexander has poured into this story. The passion figuratively flows throughout the book: Zandra for her photographic subjects, Blake’s love and protectiveness for those he loves and lastly for each other. I just wish it hadn’t taken quite so long for this couple to stop fighting their mutual attraction. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through A Novel Take PR and it comes highly recommended.

Seduced by a Soldier is a fun quick read. There is plenty of adventure and banter, that you never get bored. Zandra York just got her first big break photographing for a major magazine. She's never travelled out of the country before but her brother Jackson is on his way to act as her guide. But when her brother's best friend Special Forces instructor Blake Monroe steps off the plane instead, she knows this will not end well. There isn't anything Blake won't do for his best friend. But babysit Zandra when he's called away on a mission was not on the list. She proves to be far more trouble than he can handle and far too tempting. This was well-written and the story moved smoothly. I was never bored reading this story. I enjoyed their adventures as they travelled to Zandra's photo assignments. Zandra is finally going to make it as a photographer only problem is that her brother has organised for his best friend Blake to travel with her. This is the story of how they realise what they feel for one another and how they grow as they travel together. Blake is on leave from the military he is extremely good at what he does but it is time for him to start the next part of his life he has had an interest in his friends little sister for years but knew that he couldn't go there. As they travel through Europe those feelings grow and are reciprocated Can they have a future together. This is a sweet story that draws you in It is a little slow getting started so do persevere

I read this beauty in one sitting, I could not put this down! The perfect combination of the unwilling meets the unknowing and a heap of sexual tension, humor and charm. Zandra and Jackson could not have been more perfect. Jackson is her brothers best friend who stands in for him when he's called out on a mission and can't accompany his sister on her first trip to Europe. He calls upon Jackson to go and Jackson begrudgingly complies, he's on leave too and had plans. Plans that didn't include babysitting Zandra through Europe. This trip is important to her, it's her first opportunity to prove herself to the new e-zine company that's sent her to photograph her way through some proscribed places in Europe. She's never been out of the country before and wants to do more than well. She's broken away from working for her family business and is a successful Instagrammer and photographer. Combining these two and proving to her family she can be successful as a photographer is more than important to her. There is no doubt she's got talent. What she can't do is figure out the train schedule in Germany! Imagine her surprise when she arrives in Germany looking for her brother only to see Jackson waiting for her with his grump clearly showing. The man is hot! Bossy and not very patient at the beginning of their trip together, I loved the banter between these two and the adventure they were on. The sexual tension and steam were off the hook and the story is compelling. Two people who have plans for their future that takes them in two very different directions. One wants to settle, the other wants to see the world. So what happens with these two? Differences resolved or is what they both really want right in front of them. I'm not sure I say this ever, but I didn't want this story to end. It is sheer perfection from beginning to end. A total 5 star read for me!!!

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I thought it was an ok read. A brother’s best friend to lovers’ romance and this is one of my favorite tropes but I just couldn’t get into the story. The characters were ok but they were not enough to keep me invested into the story. It was a quick read. I was just hoping for more. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I enjoyed this contemporary romance. Zandra is an engaging woman who finally broke free of parental obligations to take a chance and tackle life on her own terms - as a traveling photographer. Blake travels a lot with the military, but longs for the day he can finally reach for his dreams and build a life as an attorney. They're dreams are incompatible, but they can't stay away from each other. I enjoyed the characters, but it took awhile for me to connect for them - they just felt a bit flat and formulaic. I was probably a third of the way through the book before I began to care them and their story. However, once i reached the half way point of this novel, I was all in and engrossed in the story and the characters. For this reason, I've given this book four stars. If you enjoy the genre, you will want to put this one on your TBR list.

Zandra York has known Blake Monroe since her teenage years. He was her brother’s best friend. An attraction simmered but she was too young and he had responsibilities. When Zandra leaves her accounting job to work in her dream job as a photographer, her first assignment is in Europe. It’s her first overseas trip and knowing that she’ll need help navigating the train stations etc, she enlisted her brother’s to help. Little did she know that her brother recruited Army Capt. Blake Monroe to take his place. The attraction develops but both believe that since they are on different paths in their lives, a relationship will not work. The story was touching and at times heartbreaking, especially as we learn about Blake’s childhood and his determination to help his mother become a doctor. He’s put his dreams on hold for her and those he cares for. At times you will laugh out loud, at others you will feel sad, but in the end , you will be glad to have spend some time with Zandra and Blake. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
