If you've read the 1st book in this series, Virals, you must read this thrilling sequel. It takes you back into the lives of the Virals, a group of teenagers who have a unique DNA that gives them canine abilities. In this novel Tory and the gang discover that the island research center where their parents work together is scheduled to be closed. This will split up their pack, and most importantly leave them alone to deal with their powers. Tory soon finds a way to save LIRI. Find Anne Bonny's buried treasure. What entails is a mess of dangerous decpetion, undersea caves, tunnels, ghost tours, relationships, and stalkers!

I have read both books in the virals series, they are both great. The third comes out this year and is called code, for those of you who dont already dont know. I really enjoyed this one and the first and cant wait for the third.

This is the perfect kind of book, in my opinion. There are perfect amounts of suspense, action and excitement, as well as interesting characters, deceptions and lies, friendship, hard work and an engaging plot. The only additional thing that I would like to see in book three is a touch of romance. I really love the contrast between all of the main characters, and that makes that such great friends. They're a perfect motley crew of teenagers with a virus that has warped them into something different...that they must keep secret no matter the cost. They rely and care about each other, even if they do have their little arguments and spats. I am an avid reader, and of the thousands of books that I've read, this series is my new favorite. That's saying something, coming from me. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat! You are guarenteed to love it.

I loved this book. The characters are so realistic and are very well developed. I hope that the next book well be just as good. Sometimes authors know that peolpe will read their books so the just pump out the book in a hurry to make money but this book wasn't like that. The only thing that I did not like was that the first few chapters sorta reviews what happened in the 1st book. But hey, it is rare when an author writes a sequal that is almost better than the original. The call was close but in my opinion Virals is better.

Second book in the Virals series, Tory Brennan and friends are still learning how to deal with their new powers. When they get some bad news, the LIRI centre may be shut down and they all could be faced with moving away, they become desperate and determined. Tory figures out a plan to find enough money to save the centre and keep her pack of friends together. This was not quite as good as the first book and a little far fetched but still a good read.

The Virals are back yet again. Tory, Hi, Shelton, and Ben are drawn together by their powers, each individual trying to understand them. Things go well for a little while until they get some bad news. Each of their parents works in a lab on Loggerhead Island and that lab is about to be shut down, consequently leaving all their parents out of work. This means they will have to separate, each member of the closely knit Viral pack will have to fend for his or her own. Tory knows she can't survive on her own, the outburst of power that comes from within her at random times is too much for one person to deal with. Desperate to find a way to keep the group together, they set out after the legendary treasure of Anne Bonny. Dodging booby traps, interpreting riddles, "borrowing" old maps, and avoiding gunshots is part of the deal. But the Virals grit their teeth, running into dead end after dead end but still finding the secret passage that will lead them to the next clue. Finally they discover the treasure and save the lab, but not without hardship. I liked this book even more than the first one. As a fan of Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, and many more adventurous heroes, I shivered in delight as they escaped smoothly from trap after trap. I especially admire the lifelikeness of the characters. On my journey with the Virals, I felt the pain when they ran into a dead end, and the jubilance when they found the booty. One of the best parts of the book was the witty dialog and friendly teasing the characters encounter on a daily basis. Also, the book seemed very modern to me and I felt like this adventure could actually happen in real life, as if an old pirate map would suddenly call to me and lead me on a fantastic adventure. I enjoyed this read a lot.

Pirates. Aaargh. Didn't they just have this on an episode of "Bones"? Anyway, would like to see more explanations of Tori and company's new abilities. Most of the time, this felt like Goonies to me.

Not very believable plot but still entertaining with good use of the Charleston history and environs integrated with the sparse information that is available about the famous lady pirate, Anne Bonny. Characters are rather Hardy Boyish with TV Bones like capabilities colored by shades of SciFi as the viral effect evolves.

The pack is together for their second adventure. Together they figure out a few more details regarding their flares but they still can't control them and definitely haven't found a cure. When funding for LIRI stops, the Virals all face the possibility that they will be separated permanently as their parents will have to move to find new jobs. Tory has the brilliant idea of finding the buried treasure hidden by Anne Bonney, and the book reads a little bit like a kid version of Angels and Demons with all kinds of clues hidden in various places. It's a quick adventure, sure to enthrall those who love the idea of treasure hunting. I'm definitely looking forward to book three!

I enjoyed Virals and was looking forward to Seizure. And while the book wasn't bad, it wasn't really good or remarkable. Maybe I'm getting tired of weird supernatural YA books or treasure hunting doesn't do it for me, but this book wasn't as good as I'd hoped. I'll probably read more in this series if Reichs writes them, but I won't be waiting around.

read over 300 pages in first day its darn good! Just finished 9pm 2/17. this book kicks ass! I just love mystery but then you got the scifi bits thrown in with the way the pack was infected with a virus that gives them wolf like powers! And the treasure hunt is what every adventurer dreams of! I wish I could have been Tory finding the treasure and saving the day!

Quick, easy read with an entertaining, yet predictable plot. I enjoyed reading this book more than the first, yet I felt more uncomfortable by the stereotypes portrayed in this book. The author makes obvious stereotypes about African Americans and the wealthy.

I think Virals is rapidly shaping up to be one of my favourite YA series to date. This second installment - which takes place about four months after the first - takes the firm foundation Reichs laid down in Virals and builds a wonderfully exciting new adventure smack on top of it.The Viral pack - Tory, Shelton, Hi, Ben and their wolfdog Coop - are still attempting to figure out their new abilities when they get shocking news. Their beloved Loggerhead Island, home of the LIRI institute and a beautiful nature reserve, is to be sold off as the university budget is squeezed. Faced with the prospect of her friends being split apart and moved across the continent, Tory clutches wildly at the local legend of Anne Bonny. A fearsome flame-haired lady pirate, Bonny is rumoured to have buried her treasure somewhere in the area. Would it be enough to save Loggerhead? Can she persuade the pack that this isn't just a wild goose chase? And can they solve the mystery in time to stop the sale of the island - and before anyone else finds out what they're up to?I loved this book. I found the relationships between the four human Virals absolutely spot-on for a group of teenagers - the idle banter, Hi's teasing wit, the slight attraction between Tory and Ben that simmers away gently - and enjoyed the continued exploration of the new pack bond that cements them together. It's great to have four such distinct and resourceful characters to root for, each with their own strengths, weaknesses and quirky idiosyncracies. The plot has a real Indiana Jones/Pirates of the Caribbean feel to it this time, with riddles to solve, a trail to follow, and a genuinely nail-biting underground set-piece that had me glued breathlessly to the pages for well over an hour. Like last time, there are dangerous people hot on the pack's heels, and in true crime thriller style Reichs throws out plenty of red herrings to stop the reader working everything out too quickly. I sincerely hope there's more still to come for the Virals - roll on book three!

When I read Virals #1 I loved the original concept as well as the young but intelligent main characters & an attention grabbing plot. Seizure, the second book in the series, met Virals toe to toe & did not disappoint! Another attention grabbing story (this time about buried treasure) along with plenty of action & the camaraderie and humor between the members of the pack made for another amazing read. Kudos to Kathy Reichs. I can't wait to read Code!

I really love this book and this series. As a science geek myself, i really enjoy and relate to the characters. I also like that the main female is not always swooning and following a boy. Tory's heas is on pretty straight snd she can take care of herself. Overall, this is a great and hilarious series with amazing and real characters. No doubt i will be continuing onto the next book.
