About the Author

Dr. Pecoraro is known throughout the world as "Dr. Joe." He earned a BA in zoology, an MD degree from the University of South Florida, and is a board certified surgeon. While practicing general and vascular surgery, his articles appeared in numerous surgical publications. Dr. Joe is a devoted Christian, husband, and father. He serves as working CEO, President, and Chairman of the Board for Hearts Afire. Tireless, visionary, and casual but focused, Dr. Joe has been the directing force on the forty mission trips which he's led. God has given him a remarkable depth of love and the ability to see the beauty and value in people. By seeking God's desires, he has learned to give all God asks and accept all He offers. Dr. Joe and his wife are entrepreneurs, helping thousands of people achieve physical and financial health. He jogs, kayaks, hikes mountains, reads, and mentors others. Dr. Joe roasts his own coffee from organic beans.
Rhonda Pecoraro is Co-founder and COO of Hearts Afire, Inc. and Co-founder of Your Vibrant Life Now, Inc. Rhonda earned her B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Rhonda is motivated not only by the hardships she sees on the mission field, but also by her fellow team members' sacrificial willingness to give of themselves, their time, and their finances. She believes that by serving together as a team, Hearts Afire is changing the world. She is an advocate to those less fortunate and a cheerleader to those who are hurting. Rhonda cherishes her roles of a caring and loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She is an author, visionary, and a focused and disciplined leader. She lives healthy, walks on the beach, and paints in watercolor As an entrepreneur in her coaching business, she inspires and helps others achieve their health and business goals by assisting them to be the best they can be.
Dr. Vilma Vega, a board-certified infectious disease physician and HIV specialist, is CEO and President of Vega Consulting LLC. in Florida. As a consultant, she works with Infectious Disease Associates, pharmaceutical companies, and as a Medical Director for the Community AIDS Network (CAN). Dr. Vega is an internationally-known motivational speaker on health and wellness, global missions, HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, and provides expert commentary to the media on medical news around the world. She loves to share personal testimonies and the Balanced Life Blueprint principles. A favorite personal quote is "Shape your life or your life will be shaped for you." Dr. Vega, a Peruvian-born American, passionately pursues God's purpose for her life by combining medicine and missions. In 2006, she co-founded Hearts Afire, a Christian humanitarian organization. She continues to serve internationally on the mission field, leading teams and inspiring others to dedicate their lives to Christian service.
