Amazing Contemporary Romantic Suspense New Orleans Dr. Sarah Jacobs is a criminal psychiatrist that is all too familiar with bad boys that belong behind bars. The man she meets in the New Orleans underworld is a new kind of ruthless and is also dangerous, dark and all too irresistible. Jax Fontaine is loyal with his own code and brutally honest about what he wants and doesn’t claim to be a good guy. When he and Sarah are skin to skin nothing matters but the heat between them even if they are worlds apart. Jax will do whatever it takes to keep Sarah safe when a deranged killer targets her. This is another book in an amazing series that gets better with each and every book. The characters are complex and intriguing. While each story can be read as a standalone they are much better when read in order and each one is loosely tied to each other. The way the author is able to take the reader on a dark and twisted ride and have it end with a happily-ever-after is amazing. For those that enjoy Criminal Minds they will find these books a must read. Readers will be taken on a ride they will never forget with these books and the characters in them.

Not always a go-to genre for me, Cynthia Eden just may have me picking up more romantic suspense in the future. The LOST Team (Last Option Search Team) is back on the case in New Orleans, and nothing is truly as you thought it was. Jax is a member of LOST, a total badass and while not always completely on the right side of the law, he is committed to his team, their missions and those he is tasked to find (or protect). He’s not the typical bad boy though: there is heart and caring underneath the get it done exterior, and his desire and caring for Sarah is palpable. Sarah is a criminal psychologist, and there is something to be said for her looking to her past to inform her career. With a father of dubious morals, she’s encountered the dark side more personally than many, and her ability to not shrink away from difficult or emotionally taxing situations show an iron core that doesn’t diminish from her ability to be vulnerable and admit when she is in over her head. An attack on Sarah throws she and Jax into a maelstrom, and with a girl turning up missing that coincides with Sarah’s attack, everything starts to twist and turn into a giant, edge of your seat, read with the lights on story. With plenty of heart and heat between Sarah and Jax, angst as Sarah faces demons and darkness from her past and the overriding mystery, this story was jam packed with thrills galore. I received an eArc copy from the publisher via Edelweiss for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility

Format: Galley Copy Sarah has been forced to look directly into her past and at her dark side to help find a missing girl. Jax, is the lead into the underground with connections Sarah and the LOST team could imagine. As the two are thrown together in a case that links directly to them both, then the fireworks between the two explode. The killer is the third POV and he is downright twisted and written perfectly for an evil killer. I enjoyed Sarah and Jax's story. Though I felt the beginning was slow to take off but dang did it go off like a shot. If you enjoy scorching, edge of your seat romantic suspense this is definitely a book for you.

Another brilliant story from Cynthia Eden, that will take your mind into a wild, dark, and dangerous ride through New Orleans. The intensity of the storytelling takes you right into the dark world of crime and infraction, where no one is to be trusted. The feeling of being watched, hunted, is eerie and palpable, it makes your skin crawl while reading. The action is constant and breathtaking, it is violent, bloody, even gory at times, as the LOST, and the police, seems to one step behind the culprit, like he has inside information. The passion between Sarah and Jax is hot, frantic, and fervent, the lust they have for each other is nearly combustible. The connection between them is amazing. As they open up to each other, and slowly built a fragile trust, they find the one person who could finally understand the darkness inside them, the shadows they have always carried within them. The story has so many twists and turns in the plot, it keeps you constantly guessing where it is heading next. The tale is intense like few others, captivating the mind of the reader. I was completely swept away with the story, seeing the streets of New Orleans, sensing the danger, and the deepening feelings between Jax and Sarah. Truly a thrilling, heart-stopping and stunning story, where the deepest, darkest secrets of the mind come to light, and danger is behind every corner. Be prepared for a spine-tingling ride ~ Five Spoons

I love Cynthia Eden's books! They draw the reader into the stories and hook you from page one. This installment from her Lost series is no exception, I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put the book down! If you haven't read the two previous installments from this series you will be fine starting with this book but I do recommend you go back and read the other installments as well. This book is about Sarah Jacobs, a profiler with the Lost team. After growing up and learning her father was a serial killer Sarah decided to become a profiler and joined he Lost team. Sarah is great at her job but personally she pushed everyone away. She is scared if she get to close to anyone and they learn about her dark past and her secrets that they will leave her. It is just easier to never let anyone in to begin with. Jax Fontaine was introduced in the previous installment and readers have been dying to learn more about Jax and his dark past. Jax's childhood is fuzzy for him and he wants Sarah and the Lost team to help him uncover his past and find out what happened to him after he was taken as a child. Jax tracks down Sarah and the team but before he can tell them his situation and ask for help Sarah is attacked. Jax ends up saving Sarah from the attacker and instantly finds himself drawn to her. These two soon find themselves playing a game of cat and mouse with a deranged killer set on making Sarah pay for her father's crimes. On their journey to find the killer Sarah and Jax also uncover pieces of their past that will leave them shaken and fighting to hold onto the good they have found in each other. I received this book compliments of the publisher for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

This series gets better with every new installment and I just can't find the words to describe how much I enjoyed SHATTERED. It's a gripping blend of sultry heat, mystery, suspense and thriller; the writing is so ridiculously good and unputdownable until the very last word! I was screaming inside as I was reading this book, torn between turning over the pages quickly and slowly savoring the story. Dr. Sarah Jacobs was groomed from birth to be a hunter by her father, an infamous serial killer. She was instrumental in bringing his killing spree to an end and those skills have been useful in her career as a criminal psychologist. But there are some who would like her to pay for her father's sins and would go to great lengths to achieve this. When Sarah is attacked by a vengeful armed intruder, she is rescued by the mysterious Jax Fontiane. Jax rules the streets of New Orleans. The leader of a motorcycle club and owner of several businesses and properties across the Big Easy, Jax has got his fingers in a lot of pies and is a formidable force that no-one wants to mess with. One look at Sarah and he sees a kindred spirit, one who has seen unspeakable things, whose darkness inside rivals his, someone who is not turned off by what she sees inside him. The chemistry between them is off the charts and he's determined to make her his. Rescuing Sarah from an armed intruder is just the beginning because Sarah has become the focus of a twisted killer with a vendetta against her father and the attack is the opening salvo in what promises to be convoluted mind game only the killer knows the rules of, aimed at punishing Sarah for her father's sins and Jax for his perceived crimes, and Sarah and Jax's past and present get intertwined in unexpected ways. The entire LOST team is in the cross-hairs and Sarah and Jax are surrounded by danger as they remain several steps behind the killer and worst of all, Sarah's father has broken out of jail and is headed to New Orleans to take on the threat to his daughter. The city is about to reach boiling point, partly due to the heat between Sarah and Jax and things will get worse before they get better. From the first meeting between Sarah and Jax in Twisted, I knew that their story would be an exciting one and I was not disappointed. Even with the darkness of the story, the romance between Sarah and Jax is so tender. Despite his scary reputation, Jax is so gentle with Sarah and treats her like a treasure. The twists and turns are unexpected, the ante is upped in a major way with two killers on the loose and New Orleans will never be the same. With SHATTERED, Ms. Eden has shown that she is a master of this genre and I can't wait to see what she has in store next for the series! Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

If you are looking for a brilliant and steamy romantic suspense, check out Shattered. Bad boy, Jax goes head to head with Sarah, the profiler. When they met, they had a connection, now Jax wants to see where it will lead. He hires the Lost team and specifically Sarah to help uncover his past. Sarah has always been a unique character, growing up with a love of a father who happened to be a serial killer. Her past gives her unique insight into the minds of others. She is reluctant to let anyone in but there is something about Jax that keeps pulling her closer. Could you say I didn’t see that coming, I was left wow’d and stunned. This novel was absolutely adrenaline inducing, the pages’ burn with emotions and pulse pounding action. ...and if you want to talk about tension, you can practically see the sexual tension; it is such a physical thing. Cynthia Eden shoots it out of the ball park with the hot as Hades, fabulous new addition to LOST series, Shattered I received this ARC copy of Shattered from Avon in exchange for a honest review.

4.25 stars--SHATTERED is the third instalment in Cynthia Eden's contemporary, adult LOST romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women of LOST (Last Option Search Team). This is criminal psychologist Dr. Sarah Jacobs, and dark and dangerous businessman Jax Fontaine's storyline. Although SHATTERED is the third in the series, it can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Told from several third person perspectives SHATTERED focuses on a killer who has targeted both Sarah Jacobs and Jax Fontaine. Sarah's past is mired in death; a guilt she harbours for the sins of another, and with it comes Sarah's resolve of acceptance for something of which she was never responsible. When a series of copy cat killings hits too close to home, Sarah finds herself partnered with Jax Fontaine -a man with an even darker past and dangerous secrets. As the threats against Sarah begin to escalate, the police begin to look at Jax as a possible suspect when all of the clues lead back to the man in question. The relationship between Sarah and Jax is one of mutual attraction. The sexual energy is palpable; Jax is a man who knows what he wants, and he wants Sarah for now and in the future. Jax is an enigma; a sexy but dangerous man whose power and energy commands respect as well as doubt about his true intent. The $ex scenes are provocative and seductive. Sarah and Jax were first introduced to the reader in the previous story lines when Jax's prior relationship with Emma Castille (Twisted #2) resulted in jealousy and emotional turmoil for Emma and former FBI agent Dean Bannon. Forensic specialist Victoria Palmer's story is building; her attraction and potential future with former detective Wade Monroe is gathering steam; Victoria may be a serial killer's next intended victim-a serial killer that is all too familiar to Victoria Palmer. SHATTERED is a fast paced, intense, romantic suspense storyline with a series of twists and turns; a thriller where there is more to the story; a mystery about the who, where and why. Cynthia Eden pushes the proverbial envelope with her amazing ability to keep the reader in suspense until the very end.

Im glad nick got his own story. He and sara needed each other. Why did they have to cheapen their sexual relationship by calling it a vulgar name. Its so disrespectful to a woman and when a woman says it, she seems sooo cheap, like ahe has no respect for herself as she is climbing out of the gutter
