About the Author

I’ve been writing for at least five decades, winning awards at an early age. My works have been published in various magazines, and I was a staff-writer for the Baptist Publications Committee in Arkansas for several years. I began a newspaper column, “Streaks of Silver,” for retirement-age readers in my hometown newspaper. I’ve also written three family biographies.
I taught a course called “Writing for Pleasure and Profit” at the local community college for several years. I would run up on a story, hear a phrase, or observe a special scenario, then scribble notes in my journal and find scriptures to fit, which brought me a pleasure more important than profit.
I’m a widow and have made my home with my daughter and son-in-law in Murfreesboro, TN. I have four adult grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. I lead a group of ladies that meets each Friday morning in my church, and all 22 of us enjoy studying the Bible.
I’ve worked several jobs right out of high school. After marriage to Bill, I became a receptionist in his print shop.
My reason for writing this book is because the things I wrote about so inspired and delighted me, I thought it would do the same for at least one reader.
