About the Author

Cristina Flesher Fominaya is Excellence 100 Reader in Social Politics and Media at Loughborough University and an internationally recognized expert in European social movements and politics. She holds an MA and a PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA summa cum laude in International Relations from the University of Minnesota. She is the author of Democracy Reloaded :Inside Spain's Political Laboratory from 15-M to Podemos (Oxford University Press 2020), and Editor in Chief of the journal Social Movement Studies.
Cristina Flesher Fominaya (PhD, University of California, Berkeley) is Professor of Global Studies at Aarhus University in Denmark. She is also Editor in Chief of the journal Social Movement Studies, and co-founder of the open access social movements journal Interface. Her three most recent books are Democracy Reloaded: Inside Spain's Political Laboratory from 15-M to Podemos (Oxford University Press 2020); Social Movements in a Globalized World 2nd Edition (Bloomsbury/ Red Globe 2020) and The Routledge Handbook of Contemporary European Social Movements: Protest in Turbulent Times (2020).
