These are the most unfriendly, nosey, unlikeable, people ever. These are supposed to be friends but they rip into each other like enemies. They are selfish and uncaring. I didn't relate to anyone except Grady and I just felt sorry for him, loving a woman who said he wasn't good enough for her. Some things can't be overlooked. Making these people so selfish and judgmental was too much to ignore.

Megan Ryder took 202 pages to write a story of little content. The two main characters are juvenile and immature. Although this is not a cliffhangee, it was worse... it was boring. The main story was about a woman of low esteem who was worried about pleasing her overbearing father, her incinsiderate boss, and gaining promotions while in a friends with benefits relationship. Their relationship was over, restarted, finished, restored, reinstated, and done!!! The dialog was silly. The sex was boring. The friendships pitiful. I would not recommend this... Unless you enjoy watching paint dry.

Beautiful This was a wonderful story of how parents out pressure on their children to be perfect. Brigid was always told she had to be the ultimate best. Grady was the best thing for her, but she had a lot of doubts. A friends wedding will make a difference.

I'm one of those readers who once starts a book has to finish. This was one that I really had to fight with myself to finish. I really hoped it might get better. Nope. I would never want these people as friends. No one would. I would not recommend this book

Wow, even though I generally liked the characters, their actions were hard to believe. Somehow, it was hard to believe these rotten folks could stand one another.

I think I can see both points of view. I know there are people out there who live by others guidelines. I guess the story shows that they aren't right. Could use some more editing. She was already wearing shorts and a tank when the author had her going to change to shorts and a tank. Not bad for a free book.

Certain careers put other careers down which t is oo bad. This is evident in the book. Im surprised that these women r so caddy. I could never have friends who r so mean to each other. They were imature.

Brigid has always followed the rules, always trying to get to the next junction in life. She has the pressure of her family to be the next biggest better thing and its starting to seem like its never going to be enough but she knows she needs to keep trying to get there at all cost. Grady has the pressure to reconnect with someone in his past and he would rather leave that person there, the way the left him. He's is helping build his dad's business and finally getting to a point he want it all in life. He just now needs to convince Brigid that there is more to there relationship than just sex. Can he get past her defenses or will he just walk away with another broken heart? I really want to like this book. I did I enjoy the storyline and how the value of friendship was so important in this book. I really enjoyed how the author made characters very vulnerable and more real. I did not like how self absorb and snobby all of the characters came across, while I know that was probably what the author was going for it became annoying at how relevant it became in the book. There is strong language through out this book as well as adult scenes which may not be suitable for all readers. Overall I give this book 3.5/5 it was a fun and quick read!

Something Borrowed (Lone Star Match Book 2) by Megan Ryder This is lawyer, Brigid Anderson and contractor, Grady Coughlin's story. Brigid's main goal is to do anything in order to make partner. Grady's father became ill so he took over his father's contracting business. Grady and Brigid were attracted to each other but neither have time for a relationship. Their friends with benefits agreement has worked for them until now. Grady is tired of this type of relationship and wants more but does Brigid? This is a sweet and steamy romance but it's not an easy road getting there. I really liked Grady's character. Brigid's character was a little frustrating. In her defense she wants approval from her family at all cost. Will Brigid finally see what will really make her happy and take a chance on true love? FYI, contains mature content.  I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

An emotional roller coaster of a story that I couldn’t put down. Brigid's best friend Caroline is getting married. She wants everyone to be happy and in love like she is. So, she plays match maker with her wedding party. Brigid Anderson is a lawyer who is working hard to become partner at the law firm. She wants to make her parents proud of her. She has been seeing Grady Coughlin in a friends with benefits relationship but with her promotion coming up, she has second thoughts about how her personal life should be. Grady is ready to take their relationship to the next level when Brigid pulls back. Spending the week together at their friends’ wedding might be just what they need to find their own true happiness. This is the second book the Lone Star Match series. I liked how both Brigid and Grady didn’t let the baggage of their pasts stand in the way of what they wanted in the personal and professional lives. It is a passionate story that will keep your interest in until the last page.

I truly enjoyed Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder, book two in The Lone Star Match series. This story is about second year lawyer Brigid Anderson and contractor Grady Coughlin. Brigid is under immense pressure from her parents to prove her success by making junior partner. All goes well until Grady changes the rules and wants more from her and their relationship. Brigid needs to decide where her priorities lay; having that special relationship with Grady, being available for friends, and having an actual life or fulfill the dreams set for her by her parents. Grady tries to understanding, but he wants more than an absent partner. This was an enjoyable book with likeable and authentic characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Ryder drew me in and did not let go until I read the last page. I highly recommend this book to other readers and I look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I loved this installment of the A Lone Star Match Romance series. This one sees matchmaker bride Caroline fine tuning her skills with her brother-in-law to be Grady with Brigid. In this case, Brigid and Brady have been friends with benefits for a while but he is ready to make her a lasting part of his life. She loves the relationship as it is and Grady does not seem to fit into her lawyer on the rise life even though he is perfect in so many other ways. You can actually feel the conflict both Grady and Brigid feel in situations that strain their feelings for each other. Brigid feels jealousy where it should not be if she is only a benefit friend. Grady works hard to prove he is the one for her, regardless of her own fears and thoughts. Caroline knows what best for both of them and forces them to face the facts in some very creative ways. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

When someone is happy and in love, they tend to think that everyone around them should experience the same wonderful feeling. That's why Brigid's best friend Caroline is determine to play matchmaker with her wedding party. Brigid and Grady are next on Cupid's list. Brigid is an attorney determined to make partner in order to meet the goals that her father has set out for her. Stuck between two successful siblings, Brigid thinks that as long as she doesn't deviate from her plan, her goals will be met and she will finally be able to make her family proud. Grady is the groom's brother and has been in a friends with benefits arrangement with Brigid for the past two years. But Grady is ready to take the next step and isn't willing to be a bedwarmer if Brigid isn't all in with him. Now they have to spend a week together after ending their arrangement. Grady hopes that this week will show Brigid how amazing they could be together but can Brigid deviate from her plans in order to be with someone who can't further her career? I loved how perfect Brigid and Grady are for each other. Both have a ton of family issues and while they have dealt with them very differently, it drove home for me how each was the other's home. This book was really light on the drama but there was an abundance of love throughout the story. I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the wedding party!! *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*

With The Lone Star Match Series, Ms. Ryder continues to flex her creative muscle with affectionate stories of realism that prove to be less dramatic but still all heart. Something Borrowed delivers some sweet advice as it delights and excites. With engaging situations, appealing bursts of humor and fetching characters, Ms. Ryder shows that she is quite adept at stealing the show.
