About the Author

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. Married, and the mother of three, I spent many years with very little free time. Despite that, I've always enjoyed reading and making up stories. Now my children are grown and although I still have a day job, I have been writing seriously since 2009.

I've written short stories, personal essays, poems, fiction and non-fiction. I had my first publishing success in February 2010 when my short story "Borrowing" appeared in the February issue of "The Sun" magazine, a national literary publication. The story was also read aloud for a podcast by AIRSLA for the visually impaired. In addition in 2010 I was co-author of a novel published in November titled "Where Do I Begin - One Woman's Story." I was one of 32 authors who came together to write a novel in just one month to raise money to provide underprivileged children with books. Since then, I have had other stories printed in various publications, and have written a novelette, and novel.

I take part in several writer's groups and take a writing class (for the fun of it) on my day off. I still don't have a lot of time for myself, but what time I have, I write.

My favorite all time quote comes from one of my favorite authors, J.K. Rowling.

"It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all - in which case, you fail by default."

It has become something I live by.
