About the Author

Eileen Hodrinsky is currently the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Valley Stream, Long Island, New York, elementary schools. She was a classroom teacher for five years and a reading specialist for 20 years. Debra McBride, Gina Moreno, Pamela Sherman-Fowler, and Tracey L. Varrone have all taught first grade in the Valley Stream schools and worked with Eileen to pilot the spelling instruction program there. This is their first book for Scholastic.
