About the Author

Deanne Camp is a professor of Reading and director of the Graduate Reading Program at Southwest Missouri State University. She has been an educator for 30 years—teaching elementary school, and later, courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Camp also directs the Literacy Assistance Program where struggling readers are paired with graduate students for tutoring in reading. She enjoys conducting classroom research on reading and helping her graduate students create learning environments that nurture a love of books. She currently resides in Springfield, Missouri.
