About the Author

This story came easily to the author, who was raised in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He has vivid memories of Sunday afternoon picnics along the Blue Ridge Parkway where his family would hike up the mountain trails, discovering the remains of house foundations, graveyards, and old tools. He wondered about the people who once lived there and wanted to tell their story.
