Summa Theologica, Complete
The Summa Theologica is a classic in the history of philosophy and one of the most influential works of Western literature. It is intended as an instructional guide for moderate theologians, and a compendium of all of the main theological teachings of the Catholic Church. It presents the reasoning for almost all points of Christian theology in the West.
This work is the complete Summa Theologica, containing all four books, comprised of 20 treatises, which answer 512 theological questions via 2,672 articles. The books and treatises are as follows:
Book 1, the Prima Pars, focuses on God's existence and nature, the creation of the world, angels, and the nature of man.
Book 2-1, the Pars Prima Secundae, focuses on the general principles of morality (including a theory of law).
Book 2-2, the Secunda Secundae, focuses on morality in particular, including individual virtues and vices.
Book 3, the Tertia Pars, focuses on morality in particular, including individual virtues and vices, the person and work of Christ, who is the way of man to God; the sacraments; the end of the world. (Aquinas died before completing this book.)
