Overview

Haunted by a vision of a banshee wringing a bloody dress, drag queen Brian, who performs as The Fairy Queen, cannot escape the dark possibilities of the omen. Not only does the screaming crone mean the death of a family member, the bloody dress is part of a drag performance connected to his stalker, a plastic surgeon he shamed on social media for having botched his first nose job. In search of his bloody dress, Brian learns that love is precious and that revenge is sweet.

For many members of the LGBTQ+ community, family is the one you choose, not the one you are born with. That Bloody Dress takes this to heart and tells a story about the star-crossed path of a drag queen and her beloved drag daughter.

About the Author

From a young age, Sean Zio has aspired to be a writer, starting early with attempts at murder mysteries after reading Agatha Christie as a pre-teen. In adolescence, he discovered authors like Margaret Atwood and Alice Walker alongside EC horror comics Haunt of Fear, Tales From the Crypt, and Vault of Horror. This early mix of literature and horror grew an interest to write horror stories, inspired by such masters as Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe, as well as the horror movie genre. After completing an MA in English literature, he taught creative-writing courses and led creative-writing workshops so that he could work with and inspire fellow emerging writers. Today, he runs a horror fan blog, The Devil's Muse, and is working on a collection of short horror stories.
