The Adventure of the Red-Headed League: With accompanying Facts, 10 Illustrations and a Free Audio Link
Dr Watson visits the apartment of the world famous consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes, and finds him in conference with a client, a Mr. Jabez Wilson, who has presented the super sleuth with a most bizarre problem. Local Pawnbroker Wilson admits to Holmes that he is a man of set routine and very settled in his ways, in fact almost everything about the man is entirely unremarkable, except for the flamed colour of his hair. That was until he had heard about "The Red-Headed League."
Wilson's assistant, Vincent Spaulding, had drawn his attention to a paper article about an eccentric American millionaire who had left a fortune to provide an income for Londoners with red hair as bright as the millionaires had been. The very timid Wilson, (urged by his assistant, Spauding) was accepted into the league and expected to perform purely nominal services to receive part of the fortune. Eight weeks later, Wilson turns up to find a notice on the door stating, "The Red-Headed League has been dissolved."
Confused and upset at the loss of his extra income, Wilson seeks Holmes's help in finding out what happened to "The Red-Headed League."
But is everything as it seems? Who is the eccentric Millionaire and what is the true intent of "The Red-Headed League?"
It's time for Holmes and Watson to investigate.
