About the Author

I write these books due to the world we live in today. I am a firefighter/EMT. I have seen a lot of lack of morals and respect in our children and in society as a whole. You see it all too much with bullying these days. My hopes are to help bring respect for one’s self and for others to all who read my books. That is why I write these books for children to help start it at a young age. I live in a small town in the White Mountains of Arizona where it is quiet and peaceful. But not unlike big cities, we have our share of bullying and cliques. My hopes are that we can put an end to bullying so that children can live as children and not in fear.

Chapter One

Good Morning, Bird. Good Morning, Gator. Isn't it a beautiful day today, Bird? It sure is Gator. What should we do today? How about a walk, Bird? Sounds great, Gator. Let's walk to the pond!

I just love going for walks, Bird. Me too, Gator. Hey, look, the pond! I think I see Porcupine and Skunk Swimming, said Bird.

We're almost there, Gator. We should join Porcupine and Skunk in a swim, said Bird. Umm...... I don't know, Bird, it looks kind of deep. Maybe we can just say, "Hi", and continue our walk, said Gator. Oh, come on Gator, it will be fun. You're not scared are you?

Okay, Bird. I have to be honest with you. I have never gone in the water before. I think it's scary. Oh Gator, that's okay, you don't have to swim, but if it's okay I would like to jump in for a minute. Of course, Bird. I will just put my feet in while you swim.

It looks really fun guys. I wish I was brave enough to swim, said Gator. You're the bravest Gator I know. Not being able to swim does not mean you're not brave. Thanks, Bird. You know what? I am going to try it. As long as I have my best friend to help me, then I know I can do it! Great, Gator! I will always be here to help my best friend.
