Overview

In the story Maurice Gets a Fuzzy Tail, Maurice and his mouse playmate Maureen discover what appears to be a large mouse with a fuzzy tail digging up the vegetable garden. As they watch the critter run and leap between trees, they conclude the only difference between them and the critter, besides its large size, is the fuzzy tail. The two little mice attach bubble gum, grass, and dandelions to their tails - until the critter catches them! 18 colorful photos to help entertain children as they, or an adult, read the story.

"Look, over there," he whispered. "There's a very large mouse with a fuzzy tail. Have you ever seen a mouse like that before? Check out that tail! Is it one of your relatives?" said Maurice!
As Maurice and his little friend Maureen watched the very large mouse with the fuzzy tail, it started digging in the vegetable garden.
"Uh oh. Bobby the Bunny isn't going to like that," said Maureen.

Each Adventure is designed to entertain, amuse, and educate toddlers and young children about animals or life events, and an occasional lesson can be learned from the character's behavior and/or adventures. Maurice and his friends also go to school for the first time (Time for School!) and experience adventures that young children encounter, such as moving to a new location (A Moving Experience), and a brief stay in the Mous-pital when Maurice becomes ill (Maurice Goes to the Mous-pital).

About the Author

Sharon (Daniell) Meyer was born and raised on Long Island, NY where she competed in State, Northeast Regional and National roller skate dance, and won 138 trophies, medals. In her early teen years, Sharon became the youngest dance skater to receive the prestigeous Gold Medal for proficiency in roller skate dancing.

After graduation from Sewanhaka High School, Sharon attended Brownes Business School, and pursued a career as a legal secretary.

In 1977 she moved to Waco, Texas where she raised her two sons and began a full-time career in residential real estate sales. In 1986 Sharon was voted "REALTOR of the Year" by Waco Board of REALTORS, and became President of the Waco Board of REALTORS in 1989.

In 1994 Sharon relocated to New York City and married Edward Meyer. Upon his retirement in 1998, Edward and Sharon moved to Texas where they now reside in San Antonio.

Sharon and her husband each have two children and together share nine grandchildren and several grand-dogs.

When a little mouse ran from a fireplace on a cold winter night, startling two of the author's young grandchildren, they asked her to tell them a bedtime story about the mouse that invaded their home. They were fascinated and wanted another story about the mouse... and another... and another. Thus came the creation of more than twenty-five stories entitled "The Adventures of Maurice DeMouse."

When not writing stories for her grandchildren, Sharon enjoys spending time with her nine grandchildren that span from Texas to Pennsylvania, helping out with their Home Owners Association, traveling with her husband, researching her family's history and writing her memoirs.
