Luke Alfred was a sports journalist for 18 years, and was the sports editor and senior cricket writer at the Sunday Times in Johannesburg. He now works as a media consultant at Cricket South Africa. He is the author of two previous cricket books: Lifting the Covers: The Inside Story of SA cricket and Testing Times: The Men Who Made South African Cricket. He is married and has three sons.
