Overview

Evolution as proposed by Charles Darwin denies the possibility of a Creator God, and views history as a closed continuum which consists of a series of natural causes and events. Buoyed by scientific explanations and political support, Darwin's views have become commonplace and are promoted in all levels of academia. While many have rejected the widely disseminated opinions of the high profile scientists who promote evolution, there are a significant number who believe them to be true. These adherents to evolution often assign creationists to the camp of the naive, as they cling tenaciously to their illusions of scientific certainty. So convicted are they on the correctness of their positions, that few take the time to examine the foundations of that which they perceive to be fact. But what are the foundations of evolution? And is it as certain as millions believe?

Keith Augustus Burton is Executive Director of Life emPowerment, Inc., a non-profit organization that promotes personal responsibility and community cooperation. He also assists the Executive Director of the Bradford-Cleveland-Brooks Leadership Center and is an adjunct instructor of Religion at Oakwood University and Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. From 2000-2005, he served on the Seventh-day Adventist Biblical Research institute Science Committee and participated in the 2004 Faith and Science Conference at Glacier View, Colorado. He is an ordained pastor and holds a Doctor of Philosophy in New Testament Interpretation and Classical Rhetoric from Northwestern University.
