The Healing Touch

When Tory’s mother dies in a car accident, Tory can’t get the visions out of her head. Her father buries himself in his work as a Paramedic, trying to rescue everyone else while Tory lays shattered in ruins. When Tory’s father announces they are moving to her maternal grandmother’s horse ranch on a small Island, Tory is stunned. She barely knows her grandmother, has never lived outside the city, and has never even wanted to ride a horse. Her best hope for the move is to be able to bury herself in the country where no one knows her in the hope her visions will disappear.
Instead, Tory discovers a world of strong independent women and an atmosphere of gentle healing. Wounds, both superficial and deep are treated naturally, and strength is encouraged to be released from within. Tory uncovers some mysteries from her past and realizes her own gift for healing from her ancestral roots.
This approximately 22,000 word, chapter book for young adults provides a revised concept to fill the niche for horse loving girls of today that fosters independence and empowerment within the world of horse riders. There is no need for a cowboy to come in and rescue anyone in this book. Women are living on their own, operating successful businesses, using ancient healng techniques, and making decisions based on what feels right to them.
