Overview

The Tree of Life is a powerful spiritual symbol that exists in the framework of every religion in the world, from smaller indigenous belief systems to world religions such as Christianity and Buddhism. In Jungian Psychology, this sacred Tree is the archetypal symbol for God that resides within our collective unconscious. It symbolizes the nature of God, Enlightenment, the evolution of the soul, and becomes a metaphor for all of Creation. Perhaps more significantly, this universal archetype indicates that mankind's spiritual nature is embedded within our unconscious mind.

The Tree of Life has been referenced by every major saint, prophet, illumined soul and avatar since before Christ, before Ibn Arabi, before The Tao, before the Buddha or the Bhagavad Gita. All the great spiritual teachers have seen the Tree of Life. They dwell within It, and It dwells within them. The Tree of Life is God, and God resides within your heart, as Love.

"Let your life be your spiritual practice, and let Love be your religion." This is what the book says to me repeatedly, in myriad ways. It is a wonderful treatise/and or synopsis on Universalism proper and universalism as a living, experiential movement. This book speaks to me as Spirit: the highest calling of divinity as home. As a material being, it speaks to my interest of culture and history. I will use this book as reference, like an encyclopedia, as I go forward in my life.
