About the Author

Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany (1878-1957) was a member of the Anglo-British nobility and held one of the oldest titles in the Irish peerage. Lord Dunsany spent much of his life as a writer and dramatist, and was noted for his extensive writings in fantasy. More than eighty books of his work were published, including many hundreds of published short stories, as well as successful plays, novels and essays. Dunsany influenced a number of later writers including Ursula Le Guin, Robert E. Howard, and J.R.R. Tolkien.
