About the Author

Ο Μετίν Αρντιτί γεννήθηκε στην Άγκυρα το 1945 και ζει στη Γενεύη. Το 1988 ιδρύει το Ίδρυμα Αρντιτί, που χορηγεί υποτροφίες σε αποφοίτους του Πανεπιστημίου της Γενεύης, καθώς και βραβεία συγγραφής σε μαθητές. Επίσης, από το 2000 προεδρεύει του Συμβουλίου του Ιδρύματος της Ορχήστρας της Γαλλόφωνης Ελβετίας. Παράλληλα με την πολιτιστική του δράση, αφοσιώνεται στη συγγραφή μυθιστορημάτων και δοκιμίων. Το 1998 κυκλοφορεί το πρώτο του μυθιστόρημα "Mon cher Jean... de la cigale a la fracture sociale". Ακολουθεί μια σειρά βιβλίων που τον διακρίνουν στο χώρο της συγγραφής, και τέλος, το 2006, τιμάται με το Βραβείο "Lipp Suisse" για το πολυσυζητημένο μυθιστόρημα του "La pension Marguerite". Το 2012 ανακηρύχθηκε Πρέσβης Καλής Θελήσεως της UNESCO.
