Eve Snow is a special private investigator. Shes a psychic, and it helps her solve cases faster than the ordinary PI. She has a knack for finding missing people in trouble. But this time, trouble finds her.

Eve is doing just fine until the day that Hunter Vale walks back into her life. Afer helping him find and recover his kidnapped niece, they also recovered their lost relationship after a woman in their past played with them to break them apart. Now, they are planning a wedding while Hunter tries to know more about her job so he can help her - try to save her rom trouble. It is not easy to protect a stubborn woman, especially when she can melt him with a single look.

But someone who calls himself the Secret Admirer is murdering young women in Jewel Bay in the most horrific ways imaginable. Eves friend, Det. Chad Morrison, is stumped and asks Eve to help with the investigation. Chad knows about Eves gift, he hoped she can help him find the killer before he kills again.

Eve is most willing to help after finding out that the victims were here former friends. As she and Chad raced to find the killer and save the next victim in time, she noticed her abilities getting stronger. But the Secret Admirer has its eyes on Eve, and she might not live long enough to observe her stronger abilities, or to live in a happily ever after with Hunter.

The house wasnt that far away and they arrived within a very few minutes. Pulling over a couple of houses down from Saras, Eve cut the engine. She and Hunter watched the house for a few minutes to assure themselves that no one else had arrived ahead of them. Then they exited the car and casually strolled to the back of house.

Climbing up the few steps to the deck, they approached some sliding glass doors that looked directly into the eat-in area of the kitchen. They had just stopped to look into the doors when a sudden energy of such malevolence slammed into Eve that she staggered and would have fallen if Hunter hadnt caught her.

Black! No, black with blood red streaks twisting through it like small little rivulets of blood. She couldnt remember ever having felt such rage and madness. Her head instantly felt as if it was on the edge of exploding.

Oh, yeah, she thought. This is a bad one.

About the Author

The moment Sandra Ross held her first romance novel when she was ten, she knew she was going to write romance. At thirty now, a prolific reader and a freelance writer, she's since then expanded her preferences from just romance to romance with a dash of now trending sub-genres--paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi even, and erotica. She loves challenging herself and would write on a dare. On a normal day, she would be found in her herb garden collecting spices for her kitchen or ingredients for her potions; in her huge eclectic Provencal kitchen with the big modern oven cooking pots and pans of food for her family of one husband and three kids (an ardent daughter and two boisterous sons) that'll probably last for weeks; in her library with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and an e-reader in her hands as she reads the latest Amazon erotic hit; or scribbling pages upon pages of different erotic lifestyles, searching for the one that feels like it was inspired by just the right mix of passion, story line, and sex. Aside from these activities, the rest of the time she'd be found in front of her laptop typing the latest Sandra Ross concoction for her readers.

33 pages of a story that stops abruptly. No conclusion. Only a couple chapters and a lot of advertising. Sorry I wasted my time.

I wish I could have read these reviews before I bought book 2 in this series. I was not aware that I was buying a few chapters and another excerpt. Very disappointed!

I love mystery stories and stories that involve solving a case, crime, or murder. I also love stories where there is an awesome heroine in the story. This book has both of those things. There is a crazy killer, The Secret Admirer, and a sassy private investigator, Eve Snow. Eve must find The Secret Admirer, because one of her friends has already been killed and who knows what or who is next.  What I love the most about this book is that there are so many characters introduced almost right away, that you can't trust anyone. Any of these characters could be the killer. I also love that Eve has special powers, and you don't know what it is yet, but you know it must be something serious if the cops are asking for her help.
