About the Author

The Christmas Stocking Surprise is based on Karen Carr’s fond memories of her mother knitting over 40 Christmas stockings through the years for family members, neighbors and friends. Karen taught elementary school in West Virginia for 30 years, and is now retired. She resides in Elkins, West Virginia, with her husband, Rich. This is her second children’s book. Her first book, The Christmas Wishing Quilt, is about the importance of family traditions, and emphasizes that life can be hard because of the sacrifices one makes.
