The Common Ground of Science and Religion

Overview

Rather than concentrate on the differences of how we arrived here, we need to recognize the similarities of science and religion. Perhaps both views can be tolerated at some point. We must have scientists to figure out how we got to where we are and aid in the future of us. We will never stop trying to discover where we come from and how we got here and why. There is no incompatibility in these endeavors. We are all here together and must forge a plan for the future, or our descendants will not survive. We cannot force our wills onto others. We must be tolerant; and rather than be antagonists, we must be protagonists and work together to ensure our place in the history of the universe and all universes yet to be discovered.

Terrance Mackey has always been certain of God’s existence since he can remember. (Since the first grade, for that matter.) To even have the thought that He does not exist is foreign. When studying the theories of evolution, there is nothing that he finds that even suggest there is not a master plan of how we became who we are and where we are in the universe. The plan of the sameness of all living, breathing creatures and their adaptations to their environments is indisputable. Now, we must become stewards of this earth, which has been developed specifically for us so that all future generations can experience what we have experienced—that is, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, for all.
