A cursed crystal warrior on borrowed time....

Chalcedony (Chalcey) is too busy planning the launch of her dance studio to fret about the absence of men in her life. Besides, she's hanging out for the man of her dreams--if such a creature exists. Her ordered world is turned on its head when she's given a wulfenite crystal, and Lord Wulfenite, Keeper of the Shifting Sands fief, emerges... and kisses her like there's no tomorrow. Before they comprehend what's truly at stake, Chalcey has bonded with Wulf and his life is in her hands. And with the Crystal Guardian's final test looming, Chalcey must confront her feelings for Wulf... and find a way to save him before it's too late.

This is a well written, full length paranormal romance (about 650 nook book pages). A few well placed sex scenes but not (thank you!) so much that you feel the story is lost and you are reading written porn. (I so get over that!) Characters were well flushed and the plot was captured perfectly. I didnt want to put it down! I plan on purchasing the rest of the series and looking into her other series as well. Shades of Lara Adrian, JR Ward and Victoria Danaan can be felt in this novel. I highly recommend. Readers should be over the age of 16 due to brief sexual scenes. Beautifully written. Thank you, Ms. Anderson for this fantastic free book. I wish more authors would stick to your style of romance writing. This is truly a romance and not a smut book. -Jennifer Keller

The sexy alpha male hero had me hooked from the beginning and I loved the sassy heroine who tamed him (just enough). The plot unfolded at a fast page-turner pace. Finding The Crystal Warrior was like finding a Paranormal Romance Gem. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

This author is talented. This is not a porn filled book, but it does have one steamy love scene and a sexual charge through out the book. Other than that it's all about the feelings and the relationship and the story. I myself don't mind a porn laced book, that being said I didn't feel that is story was missing anything because of a lack of a love scene every chapter. Great read all around!

Ms. Anderson needs an editor. It's pretty clear that she's talented -- her characters and the overall plot are very engaging -- but the story does not justify the length. There are some non-events that drag on the overall pace; the book could stand a lot of tightening up. And there are other problems. For one, where on earth (I mean that literally) is this book set? If it's New Zealand, it would be a good idea to let us know and to take advantage of the setting. As it is now, it's confusing, as if she is trying to make it fit any big city in an English-speaking country (when she had the mother stay at The Four Seasons, I thought, "is this supposed to be New York?" Or is it Vancouver? Sydney? I couldn't tell). There are many times that she uses words and phrases that don't fit anywhere I've ever been, and others where she is using slang that's current in several different places. It's kind of a mash up, and it's jarring. You don't want to be distracted with wondering where these people are, especially at dramatic moments. Telling the reader where this is happening would eliminate those problems, and it would add color: for one example, I'm familiar with ballroom dancing here in the U.S. (my brother dances competitively), but what she describes is somewhat different and I'd like to know more about it. I'd like to be able to visualize the surroundings at all, and since Wulf is not from around wherever here is, it would be natural for him to comment on what he sees. I'm not saying it should be a travelogue, just rooted in a real location. One last problem: it's the biggest and it requires a SPOILER ALERT. The person who turns out to be the real villain is never mentioned by name, and barely referred to at all, before he shows up to finalize his "evil plan." Since she's been setting up another character for this throughout the book, this is cheating!

This is really alive book. Very refreshing that keeps you on your feet. Very changellling and believeable very day living with all the ups and downs. You have to believe more than the norm to have some come froma crystal and be human with a expired time limit and for you to be the one to save him. What was this writer thinking when she dream up such concept? But it good, can't wait to read the other books

I really tried to enjoy this book but it was just to hokey. The characters were so unbelievable it was laughable. After torturing myself through 400 plus pages i finally gave up on this read. Sorry, not worth my time.

Wow! This is a "can't put down until it's finished" book! It was exciting, humorous, sassy, sizzling hot and twisted. Who could ask for more? Definitely plan on reading the other two books in this series. Note to like-minded future readers, should you choose to read this, there is a trilogy on the Crystal Warriors. Great storytelling and writing!

I truly loved this story. It has a strong heroine that is fiesty as well as a feisty best friend. Real characters. Definitely loved Wulf, he came off a total ahole in the intro to the story but was quite sexy as he kept supporting and saving his female. Nice twist with Ray and Terry. Can't wait to read the other books.
