The Dead Have No Need For Money
Is it a crime to not to pay your employees? What if they dont complain? What if they show no indication of asking for payment? What if they say not a word and care not at all? More to the point what if they are dead?
Let me present another riddle. What should you do if hunted by the law? And what if the law wants you dead, regardless of what you have or have not done? And if you are penniless with no way to flee or defend yourself, do you throw yourself to the mercy of a dishonest and corrupt governor? Or do you take the steps necessary to survive no matter where they lead?
In The Dead Have No Need for Money the two above described dilemmas collide and violently so, merging together and forming the life of James Pinkett, a man who fails to comprehend the depth of evil surrounding him nor how completely this wickedness will come to define his existence.
Once a successful factory owner James finds himself broke, on the run, and seemingly out of options. Reduced to hunting for moss in the swamp to earn a few pennies, one day he stumbles across a variety not only different in appearance purple in hue but with special properties that have the potential to carry him away from his miserable life. When first discovered there was a dead man lying atop this strange grass like weed. Was this not a warning of things to come?
Once James concludes the risks are worth the danger he begins down a path that leads to deception, murder, and acts worse than death. But these actions do manage to satisfy his ever growing greed and take him closer to his ultimate goal escape from this dishonest and hated colony. Escape that is if he can avoid those who seek to ruin everything he has created, and this list seems to be getting longer the more he continues on his path to freedom.
